Horizon: Forbidden West, the long-awaited sequel to the critically acclaimed Horizon: Zero Dawn, is now available on the PlayStation 5 and PlayStation 4, bringing with it the continuation of protagonist Aloy’s journey as she looks to bring an end to the blight that’s plaguing the world. To celebrate, Sony have released a new accolades trailer that highlights some of the praise the game has recieved:
More about Horizon: Forbidden West
Join Aloy as she braves the Forbidden West β a majestic but dangerous frontier that conceals mysterious new threats.
Explore distant lands, fight bigger and more awe-inspiring machines, and encounter astonishing new tribes as you return to the far-future, post-apocalyptic world of Horizon.
The land is dying. Vicious storms and an unstoppable blight ravage the scattered remnants of humanity, while fearsome new machines prowl their borders. Life on Earth is hurtling towards another extinction, and no one knows why.
Itβs up to Aloy to uncover the secrets behind these threats and restore order and balance to the world. Along the way, she must reunite with old friends, forge alliances with warring new factions and unravel the legacy of the ancient past β all the while trying to stay one step ahead of a seemingly undefeatable new enemy.
Praise has been universal for the game, with it currently sitting at a score of 89 on Metacritic – it’s clear that PlayStation Studios have another hit on their hands. We’ll have our review published sometime next week, so keep an eye out for that.
Digital Foundry have also reported that the game runs well on the PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 4 Pro, albeit with some obvious sacrifices made to the visuals and performance. It means that those who haven’t been able to get a PlayStation 5 yet don’t have to miss out, whilst the free PlayStation 4 to PlayStation 5 upgrade that comes with the game does sweeten the deal.
