Wall Town Wonders is a mixed reality experience that transforms your living space into a vibrant, miniature town that’s packed full of charming inhabitants and fun mini-games to complete. It’s up to you to build up your town and help your civilization thrive as everyone lives their lives across your living space, and honestly? If that concept alone doesn’t instantly make you want to play the game, you’ve got no soul.

The game’s premise is a delightful mix of imagination and ingenuity, with players starting with a single structure that appears on their wall and gradually expanding upon it to include the likes of farms, workshops, mines, and other functional buildings that all add a little something extra to your town. As your settlement grows, you’ll see tiny residents bustling about their everyday lives too, whether that’s working, socializing, or even embarking on adventures across your room. You’ll engage with them, help lead them through their tasks, and build up the resources necessary to thrive and expand, all without the pressure of constant objectives or time restraints. It’s a very easy-going game, but with plenty of items to unlock and cosmetics to revamp your town, you’ll constantly find yourself coming back for more.
The town you build doesn’t feel like it simply exists visually, either – it really does feel alive, with the townsfolk continually interacting with the player and independently venturing through the skies of your living space. It’s incredibly immersive, whilst the impressive visuals add a sense of believability to all of the little folk that you encounter.
It’s another brilliant use of mixed reality on the Meta Quest 3, with the team at Cyborn showcasing what the tech is capable of. I was constantly in awe of the illusion of structures extending into my walls, with it lending a sense of magic to the experience as you closely peer into each building to see residents living their lives. It was one of those things where I had to make every friend and relative put on the Meta Quest 3 headset to see how cool it looked, and for one of the first times in forever, they were all left very impressed.
“Wall Town Wonders is delightful mixed reality experience that’s creative, charming, and full of wondrous moments that’ll put a big smile your face.”
Whilst the crux of the experience revolves around developing and growing your town, Wall Town Wonders feels like a lot more than just a city-building game. Whilst each building offers additional resources to continually gather, they also add new gameplay elements for players to tinker with, often in the form of minigames that are as varied as they are imaginative. You might find yourself catching fish on your floor, flying planes around your room, defending crops from invading beetles, dealing with ninjas scurrying through your town, and much more. These activities provide resources which are essential for upgrading your town so they’re always worthwhile to complete, but they also just so happen to be a whole lot of fun too.
The game also lets you play at your own pace. You can adopt a laid-back approach, periodically checking in to gather automatically produced resources, or take a more hands-on role by diving into minigames to speed up your town’s development. It has a casual nature that makes Wall Town Wonders a more accessible experience for a wider range of players, with it the perfect game to jump into for 30-minute sessions each day. And sure, you can play for longer in if you want, but whilst Wall Town Wonders constantly kept me in awe, its gameplay lends itself better to shorter sessions where you gradually see your town grow. When I played for longer, it could get a little repetitive in places, and whilst I was never bored, the bite-sized approach certainly complemented the nature of its gameplay more.
There’s just one thing I’d recommend: you NEED a decent amount of space in your room. I played in a smaller room at first, and soon found it broke immersion when I couldn’t put structures on the wall effectively or had them overlapping with objects. It’s a small complaint that’s down to the player rather than the game, but as soon as I moved to my living room that was a lot more spacious and had more wall to build upon, the whole experience felt a million times more impressive. The game gave me the option to transfer everything over too, though I was happy to start all over again.

It also helped me see how much the game has improved over the last week or so whilst playing. When I first started, I came across a few technical hiccups here and there, whilst mini-games would lack clear instructions to guide players as to what to do. However, a patch has been released that has rectified a lot of these problems, with some small technical issues I encountered fixed and mini-games giving more guidance when playing. Don’t get me wrong, there’s still room for improvement and there can be oddities within the world (sometimes the controls might feel a little unresponsive or you’ll see a visual glitch), but there have been clear enhancements made from when I first started playing and they’ve made a difference in making Wall Town Wonders a more enjoyable experience. It’s definitely helped bump the score up for this review, whilst the promise of new content in the future ensures that the developers are committed to continually building upon the experience for players.
Wall Town Wonders Review
Wall Town Wonders is delightful mixed reality experience that’s creative, charming, and full of wondrous moments that’ll put a big smile your face. Watching your town grow and seeing its tiny inhabitants interact with the player and their space always feels magical, whilst the variety of gameplay mechanics spread across the city-building and quirky mini-games all adds to the fun.
It’s simply unlike anything else I’ve played before and stands out as another imaginative example of what mixed reality is capable of. And sure, it might be better suited to bite-sized play sessions as opposed to long-stretches, but the time you do spend with Wall Town Wonders is always a treat.
